In the galleries where miners extracted copper, the museum, one of the five most beautiful mineralogical sites in the world, unveils tools and stones from all over the world. All around, the light of the mountains over the Mediterranean offers a striking contrast.

The visit takes place in the heart of an exceptional natural site, perched on the heights of Cap Garonne, offering a remarkable panorama of the Hyères islands and Toulon harbor.

Access conditions
  • Access by bus

    Get on line 91 until the Colle Noire stop. As the museum is in the hill, you will need to book a "Bus call line AB91" to 04 94 03 87 03. A shuttle will pick you up at the stop to take you to the mine museum.

    Parking is available just a few metres from the mine entrance.

    The audioguide can be fitted with a magnetic induction loop on request. Fee of €2 for free admission. Commentary is available in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.

    Visit the museum independently The entire building is accessible to disabled visitors and wheelchair users. An elevator to the museum's 1st floor is available on request from reception.

  • Visual disability

    A Braille booklet is available free of charge from reception. It presents the arsenal's former monumental gateway and the evolution of Toulon's port through relief drawings. Along the way, you can discover : 1 tactile model of a 74-gun vessel 1 tactile model of a galley 1 object from the permanent collections to touch: a contemporary naval torpedo.

Opening time
From 06/02 to 30/06 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and weekends between 10 am and 6 pm. Closed exceptionally on May 1st. From 01/07 to 31/08 daily between 10 am and 6 pm. From 01/09 to 05/01 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and weekends between 10 am and 6 pm. Closed exceptionally on January 1st and December 25th. Museum closed in January according to end-of-year school vacations.
